Heyser Lecture at New York ConventionAES 143rd Convention With the program filling out rapidly for the New York Convention, the Technical Council is pleased to announce that Leslie Ann Jones, Director of Music Recording and Scoring at Skywalker Sound, will present the 37th Richard C. Heyser Memorial Lecture. Her theme, "Paying Attention", suggests a fascinating retrospective on how her life and career have been sustained by this important principle. These companies, and the 19 announced last month, have demonstrated their belief in the work of the AES Standards Committee through a substantial financial commitment. The Society is grateful to them for their support. There's also a Call for Comments on Technical Requirements for Media Network Directories and Directory Related Services. From this document, and the comments received on it, the AES Task Group on AES-X238, Media network directory architecture, will develop a set of requirements for media network directory standards that will work with present and future media networks over a wide range of application domains. Interested parties are encouraged to submit general and specific comments, proposed additions or changes, and responses to the specific questions it poses.
