Japan Section 60th Anniversary

AES Japan

AES Japan Section is celebrating its 60th anniversary. After initial work in 1952 to establish the first section outside the US, it was officially launched in 1953. In honor of this occasion it is holding a special event on August 23rd and 24th at Tokyo University of Arts, Senju Campus, with the theme "Back To Our Roots — What The Music Gave Us".

Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA, July 25-27, 2013. Author and sound system design expert Bob McCarthy will be the keynote speaker on the opening day, kicking off a program full of presentations by audio practitioners, expert teachers, and industry representatives.

AES 50th Conference

Helsinki, Finland, August 21-24, 2013. Well-known chairman of Genelec, Ilpo Martikainen, presents the keynote lecture on the evolution and history of monitoring loudspeakers. Alex Grell’s invited talk goes into “Headphones - From Alexander Graham Bell to a mass phenomenon.”

Sound Field Control - Engineering and Perception, 52nd Conference

AES 50th Conference

Guildford, UK, September 2-4, 2013. Keynote speaker, Frank Melchior of BBC Research, chairs a workshop on "The interplay between engineering and perception in the design of sound systems for listeners". 53rd Conference, Semantic Audio, London, UK, January 27-29, 2014

Chaired by Karlheinz Brandenburg and Mark Sandler, this conference will give a broad overview of the state of the art in content-based management of digital recordings. It will deal with many of the new scientific disciplines involved in this still-emerging field. Prospective authors should note that the call for contributions is now published.
