48th Conference Registration
AES 48th Conference – Automotive Audio Registration is now open for this event. The AES 48th Conference overlaps with the famous "Oktoberfest" in Munich, so make your reservations early and enjoy a reduced registration fee before the end of July. Over the last 20 years, automotive audio has changed dramatically from being standard mono sound in one full range loudspeaker to a true multichannel playback system fully integrated and adjusted to the specific car. The conference will give an overview of the present state-of-the-art in a broader perspective, and address many of the new scientific disciplines involved in this still-emerging field. A special Press Event on September 20th will allow for a full commercial presentation of the best achievements in Automotive Audio. The program is compiled so that the scientific "Listen, compare and discuss" is on September 21st, which will allow automotive companies to be present for both events. Companies that are interested should contact Conference Chair Jan Abildgaard Pedersen.
Open Access Survey
A growing number of countries require Open Access to publicly-funded research. The objective of this survey is to investigate whether the former, current and potential JAES authors are interested in publishing their work in Open Access (OA). The intention is to give greater visibility and ease of access of the JAES publications through OA, and at the same time give an author a possibility to fulfill the OA requirement. A paper opted for OA will be charged a publication fee to be paid by the author or the author's sponsor (employer, funding agency, etc.). A discount for AES members and sustaining members is envisioned. JAES plans to be both a conventional journal (with Copyright agreement signed) and OA, thus an author can choose either of the publishing options.
