A New Portable Audio Console for Television Remote Broadcasting

The Gates M-6546 Portable Console was developed and built for the American Broadcasting Company, for use in their new mobile color television vans, and has many features usually found only in large studio audio consoles. Three of these units have been delivered, and three more are currently under construction. This console has extensive facilities for foldback, two separate echo feed channels, and three independent output channels with provisions to add the output signal of any one to either or both of the other two output channels. Also input signal phase reversal switches, program equalizers in all mixing and echo receive channels, twelve input channels capable of handling signals varying from +8 to -60 VU, nominal, intercom facilities and othe conveniences for the operating group are provided.
