Timing Issues

Document Thumbnail

The flexibility and multi-generation capability of digital audio has led to more and more complexity and diversity in its uses. With these come new problems of timing and synchronisation. This paper attempts to summarise these and illustrate the requirements by reference to real-world experiences in broadcast systems. More recent manifestations of timing issues have appeared with networked and streamed audio.
