Transistor Front Ends for FM Tuners

This paper describes two basic types of front ends for FM tuners. The advantages and disadvantages of two and three transistor circuits are discussed in detail, including considerations of intermodulation, frequency stability, overload characteristics and power gain. Variation of performance with life is also discussed.
