Cinema Sound Reproduction Systems: Evolving Technical Requirements and Architectural Considerations

The increased dynamic range available from digital sound tracks, combined with action-oriented and event films, have placed requirements on cinema loudspeaker systems to produce higher acoustic output at lower distortion levels. Applications of 3-way screen systems and higher power surround loudspeakers in both traditional and newer stadium seating steep-rake theaters will be explored.
