Virtual Shifting of Speaker Array Components

Document Thumbnail

A lot of notches, side and back lobes exist in the overall 3D-speaker array balloon. The application of different random delay times to some of the array components in the range between 0 and 35 ms achieves lobe-free patterns. The way the resultant array balloon, array coverage, changes with the change of the delay time assignment is totally unrationalized and unformulated.
