A system for measuring voicecoil temperature and true power in real time has been developed using the G programming language and a PC with a data acquisition board. A constant current source, filters, and analog multiplier provide high accuracy. The system can be applied without the need to model the loudspeaker's equivalent circuit in advance. Typical experimental results are presented which inform design engineering choices.
