MPEG-2 AAC Multichannel Realtime Implementation on Floating Point DSPs

Document Thumbnail

As a part of the ISO/MPEG-2 audio coding Standard, AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) is the most powerful coding algorithm in terms of preserving sound quality especially for compressing multichannel signals. This paper discusses the implementation effort of such a multichannel encoder on current high performance floating point DSPs.
