Experiments on the Synthesis of Virtual Acoustic Sources in Automotive Interiors

Document Thumbnail

This paper presents the results of subjective experiments designed to evaluate the effectiveness of different digital inverse filter design techniques that produce virtual acoustic sources in a car. It is shown that the inversion technique that makes use of the precedence effect produces better sound clarity and localization accuracy compared to other techniques investigated.
