Test Method for the Evaluation of Ringing in Microphones

Document Thumbnail

Having found positive correlation between the psychoacoustic perception of a microphone's sound quality and the amount of mechanical and acoustical ringing, Audio-Technica is now in the process of refining ringing measurements to provide more efficient, and possibly more meaningful results.: A discussion of the results from studies on the effects of ringing will be followed by a current study in transferring from a test method requiring R&D time, equipment and personnel to a -mass evaluation' method allowing the faster evaluation of microphones (for increased data/resolution in the study) and ease of use.
