A flexible and cost-efficient realization of a digital equalizer is described, which is appropriate for professional and domestic audio systems. The system employs a dedicated hardware structure and realizes lengthy inverse filters (up to 1000 coefficients/channel) so that broad acoustic path effects can be anticipated together with the loudspeaker equalization function. : Extensive library functions and interfaces permit flexible programming by the user.
