Amplitude and Signal Delay Shading of Vertical Horn Arrays

Document Thumbnail

The spherical directivity response of vertical horn arrays is calculated using a convolution-based computer model. The model is validated by comparison to spherical directivity measurements taken in an anechoic chamber. The baseline directivity of several arrays is calculated and then various shading schemes are applied and evaluated including both amplitude and signal delay. These techniques are useful for steering arrays and for mitigation of lobes and nulls.
