Comparisons Between the Measured and Computed Performance of Ribbon Loudspeakers

Document Thumbnail

Performance comparisons of an experimental prototype ribbon loudspeaker are made against two computer simulation models of disparate complexity. Results are derived from both practical measurement and data computed using comprehensive finite-element simulation and more traditional equivalent-circuit analog methods. A critique of each simulation technique is made, and the relative merits of computational complexity and model accuracy are discussed.
