The Design of an Audio Multiprocessor

Document Thumbnail

The project set out to establish that digital signal processors can not only beat the audio quality of analog but also deliver cost-effective performance. This was achieved through the development of a microkernal, which enables many virtual or software processors to run simultaneously in a multichannel environment on a single DSP, and a simple control system capable of providing a consistent user interface to any sound processors.
