Spectral Degradation of Speech Captured by Miniature Microphones Mounted on Persons' Heads and Chests
This paper presents the results of a test carried out on 10 subjects, each with miniature microphones mounted in different positions on his head and chest. With reference of the on-axis speech spectra, the degradation caused by the microphone placement is examined. Also the changes to the spectrum of a nearby source (artificial mouth) registered by the head and chest worn microphones are examined.
