The Evolution of Broadband Noise Reduction Techniques

Document Thumbnail

Audio engineers are turning more to the single-ended technologies available for reducing or even removing broadband noise from a composite signal without damaging the integrity of the desired signal. The evolution of time-domain and frequency-domain techniques are presented, spectral subtraction and its limitations are discussed, and examples of these and more recent subtractive algorithms are given.
