The Ergonomic Challenge of Dynamically Automating All Controls on a Digital Audio Mixer Without Clutter

Document Thumbnail

Historically, dynamic automation on analog systems has been applied to a very limited number of controls, beginning in the early days with faders. Design approaches often required an overhead of related selectors and displays for each control, thereby considerably multiplying the number of necessary components. Expanding this approach to a fully automated system would create immense clutter. The development of a simple but effective uncluttered design is described.
