The Measurement of Instantaneous Speed Stability of Instrumentation-Type Magnetic Tape Transport Systems
Means of measuring, on a continuous basis, the instantaneous speed stability of instrumentation-type tape transports are discussed. The performances of open and closed-loop tape drive systems, with and without automatic speed compensation, are compared. Conventional wow and flutter measurements are presented.
