Matrixed Surround Sound in an MPEG Digital World
With the recent arrival of DAB in many countries and the forthcoming arrival of digital television, sound is reaching an increasing number of consumers via a bit rate reduced signal path. At the same time, many listeners are advancing toward home theater surround sound installations. This paper examines the marriage of the existing Dolby stereo system to the MPEG compression system.
