Call Detection from Digital Audio

Document Thumbnail

Digital call detection is widely used in audio equipment, such as digital mixing consoles. A simple technique used for detecting a call (a sine-wave signal) from the digital audio signals is proposed. Its principle and design are presented. The real-time implementation using the Motorola DSP56002 is discussed. Such a call detector has been applied in the audio channels of a digital mixing console. The results show a good performance.
