Multimedia Catalogue of Hearing Impairments
A simulation of the important aspects of hearing loss was performed in order to make people with normal hearing aware of the communication problems hearing-impaired people experience. Constructed simulation tools enabled real-time processing of any sound, based on the audiograms measured by hearing-impaired subjects. A multimedia catalog of hearing impairments has been developed, which contains a medical description of the various types of hearing impairments and a collection of sound examples illustrating the consequences of hearing-loss cases.
