Development of Thin Loudspeakers Suitable for HDTV Receivers with Large PDP Flat Display
Several types of high quality thin loudspeakers for HDTV receiver with PDP (Plasma Display Panel) are developed. Major design requirements are: 1) 70Hz to 20kHz effective frequency range; 2) 50 (H) x 10 (W) x 6 (D) cm in overall size; and 3) more than 84dB at 1W/m output sound pressure level. We have made three types of loudspeaker systems in cooperation with three different audio manufacturers. The experimental systems almost filled the requirements.
