Synchronization of Digital Media, Clocks and Computers

Document Thumbnail

A method of synchronization of digital media streams, clocks, and time in a computer system uses a combination of standard methods of media stream, time, and network synchronization protocols, combined with means of providing for isochronous timing in otherwise asynchronous systems. This method includes time-stamp protocols, media stream rate and time locking, and relative prime number rational fractional rate synthesis. This paper also introduces a prime number notation for use in calculations involving rational fractions.
