The Jessi DAB Chip-Set

Document Thumbnail

The year 1995 will be the start of the digital era in sound broadcasting: Digital Audio Broadcasting. Innovative digital signal processing techniques for channel coding/modulation (COFDM) and audio compression (ISO/MPEG - Layer 2) have been chosen for the entirely new digital broadcasting system - Eureka 147. This system ensures superb reception of CD-quality sound and various data services to fixed, mobile and portable receivers. The realization of the key-components for this system is the goal of the Jessi AE14 DAB project. The first generation is ready and available. Receivers, using these ICs are already offered. The development of the second generation has started and these will enable an even smaller and cheaper realization of the DAB receiver.
