Good Design for EMC Sounds Better Too

Document Thumbnail

Most manufacturers will wish to follow the -self-certification to EU harmonised test standards- route to compliance with the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive. EMC testing can be expensive and time consuming, but less testing increases the risk of non-compliance. This paper describes how the use of proven good EMC design techniques can reduce the risks of non-compliance, whilst also saving time and cost in product development and manufacture. This paper also explains how internal and external electromagnetic interferences cause audible effects, and how these proven good EMC design techniques also improve sound quality.
