A New Routing Switcher Hybrid for Switching Analog and Digital Signals
The interconnection of analog processing equipment is normally regarded as simple, but the interface between the analog world and the digital world is not that simple. Even the interface between two digital AES/EBU signals might cause problems if the encoded data does not follow the same format. DK-Audio manufactures routing switchers for broadcasting and studios. More and more sources and destinations have become digital. With this new product, we can route analog to analog, maintaining high analog performance, route digital to digital, route analog to digital, digital to analog, route different sample rates (sample rate conversion) in the same system and repack a AES/EBU channel. A comprehensive description is given about the philosophy behind the implementation. It is our belief that this new product will be of particular interest to planners of studio and broadcasting systems.
