A Method for Extending the Measured Response of a Loudspeaker towards the Low Frequencies, with the use of Cepstral Analysis

Document Thumbnail

The truncation of the anechoic part of a loudspeaker impulse response, obtained in a nonanechoic room, leads to severe measurement errors in the low frequency spectrum. A method is proposed for removing the smearing first reflections with the use of Cepstral Analysis. In this way, the tail of the impulse response is recovered leading to better low frequency measurements, in normal listening rooms.
