Computer Modelling of the Pipe Organ Valve Action

Document Thumbnail

Significant mechanism features of both mechanical and direct electrical actions of a pipe organ were examined in order to build up an equivalent electrical circuit of an organ action. Moreover, it was shown that it is possible to model articulation phenomena using modified electrical analog including the multi-step source. The response characteristics of the modelling circuit were discussed. Exemplary characteristics obtained from the computer modeled electrical networks of an organ action, the results of the analysis of the pipe sound of an existing instrument and those obtained analytically are presented and compared.
