Bowed-string oscillations analysis shows mostly complex components, which can hardly be ascribed to definite instrument properties. Therefore, modelling of such oscillations offers a useful tool for string instrument investigation. A computer modelling method is presented, which permits reproduction of string oscillations, based on solutions of differential equations and using measured values of friction force in the function of bowing velocity.
