Audio Data Compression Techniques
This paper reviews various subband, transform, and time-domain coding techniques, and develops a hybrid structure utilizing the most advantageous properties of each technique. The use of dithering, selective coding, and arithmetic entropy coding is described, and algorithms for providing distortion-free compression are discussed.
