Object-Oriented Modeling of Time Synchronization in a Multimedia Application Framework

Document Thumbnail

This paper deals with the object-oriented programming of interactive multimedia applications. Within such applications, multimedia presentations are regarded as hierarchal compositions of time objects that define serial or parallel synchronization of the inserted media objects. High-level intermedia synchronization is specified by the hierarchal composition structure of time objects and media objects. Low-level intramedia synchronization is handled within each media class. The media composition hierarchy is integrated into an object-oriented application framework which provides direct manipulation interaction through standard user interface components.
