Macromodeling of Audio Power Amplifiers
A macromodel of audio power amplifiers has been developed. It provides adequate pin-for-pin representation. The macromodel contains the components accepted by circuit simulators and has a significantly reduced complexity. Macromodel parameters are found directly from a typical data sheet or simple measurements. The characteristics of the macromodel of a typical integrated circuit audio power amplifier were verified by its analysis and through comparison of the results with the manufacturer's data sheet. It is shown that the macromodel is accurate enough for general-purpose applications.
