Digital Audio Processor IC for Consumer Products Using Bit-Serial Signal Processing on a Microcoded Architecture

Document Thumbnail

The digital audio processor IC (DAPIC) is a function specific chip for audio processing, such as equalization, stereo widening, hall effect, reverberation, surround sound, and digital volume/balance control. Apart from this, the DAPIC can be reconfigured as a digital filter with programmable frequency characteristics. The chip can realize most functions directly in hardware because of silicon efficiency. Applications are multimedia hardware, audio sets, digital loudspeakers, and car stereo.
