The Wave-Field Synthesis Concept Applied to Sound Reproduction

Document Thumbnail

The wave-field synthesis method is applied for a natural reproduction of sound in living rooms, cinemas, and theaters. The approach gives a much larger listening area with correct virtual directions and spatial impression than can be obtained with conventional reproduction principles. In this stage of the project, concentration is on topics related to the question of how many channels are needed for transmission and reproduction and the influence of natural reflections in the reproduction room.
