A new method of quality evaluation for coded and reproduced sound material will be presented. A BARK-Transform based measurement technique as a critical band frequency transform with ideal time resolution and further knowledge of the exact spectral masking effects allow a human ear adapted analysis model. Essentially gained distance measures for audible error and error margin provide an objective quality comparison for further enhancement of audio encoding schemes.
