Stereo Reproduction with Good Localization over a Wide Listening Area

A new stereophonic reproduction method is proposed which expands the size of the listening area that has good localization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by subjective tests. The localization in the near field of the loudspeakers is improved compared with ordinary two-channel stereo reproduction. This method is applicable to audio conferencing as well as to ordinary stereo reproduction systems.
