Document Thumbnail

This paper describes work on the adaption of speech analysis and synthesis techniques, namely Linear Predictive Coding (LPC) and Foremant Synthesis, to the analysis and synthesis of musical instruments. The algorithms are described and results presented for LPC synthesis and formant extraction. The paper closes with an introduction to the techniques to be adapted in formant synthesis.
