This paper describes the development, design philosophy and operation of a new type of intercom. This second generation system, controlled by a microprocessor, overcomes the limitations of current intercom systems and can handle more than one hundred simultaneous calls over eleven lines. It is intended for use by theater, broadcast, and industrial crews where immediate contact is necessary. Every type of simultaneous connection is possible including all-to-all, one-to-all, all-to-one, any-to-any.
