Subjective Evaluations of Preferred Loudspeaker Directivity

Document Thumbnail

Stereophonic listening tests were carried out in an anechoic chamber. The most important reflections that would occur in a real listening room were simulated with additional loudspeakers, time delays, and appropriate filters. Simulations of loudspeaker systems with the same on-axis response but with different directivity patterns were then directly compared across a wide range of programme materials.
