Non-Uniform Sampling of Audio Signals

Document Thumbnail

The theory of complete waveform re-construction from regularly-spaced samples of a band-limited signal is well-known. In this paper a method of signal reconstruction from a set of non-uniformly spaced samples of an analog signal will be presented. The algorithm is limited to the case where the non-uniformity of the sampling sequence consists of regularly-spaced missing or arbitrary samples. In the limit it can be shown that a signal can be completely reconstructed if the highest frequency present in the input signal is less than one-half of the average sampling rate of the sampling sequence.
