Apparent Apex, Part III: The Three-Dimensional Case

Document Thumbnail

The Apparent Apex method of measuring the polar response of a horn is extended to the three-dimensional case. As in the earlier two-dimensional analyses, the measured response is found to be dependent on the point of rotation, and on the distance to the measurement microphone. Computer-based directivity models are developed and validated. Alternate test methods are presented and analyzed. Measurement procedures are recommended.
