The presentation will describe an experimental fibre-optic digital multiplexed audio distribution system being developed for BBC Radio Projects. The work is being done by two BBC internal departments in collaboration; the Design and Equipment are producing the low order multiplexing equipment which produces a MADI output from analogue or AES/EBU inputs and BBC Research Department are responsible for the design of the high speed multiplexing and demultiplexing and for the fibre-optic distribution system.
