Electrodynamic Loudspeaker with Baffle: Motional Impedance and Radiation

Document Thumbnail

The purpose of this study is to provide us with the characteristics of the radiated field by an electrodynamic loudspeaker knowning the electric excitation of the voice coil. This acoustic field, calculated from the so-called Helmholtz-Huygens integral, depends on the mechanical characteristics of the loudspeaker (mass, stiffness, damping, Young modulus, and Poisson ratio of the diaphragm) and the radiation impedance, elements taken into account by a model for motional impedance studied for this purpose.
