Active RC Crossover Networks with Adjustable Characteristics
Two new types of third-order active RC crossover circuits are described. Both circuits are designed to offer doubly complementary crossover responses, that is, they are simultaneously all-pass and power complementary. The first circuit provides independent two-parameter tuning of the crossover frequency and frequency response type, which can be varied between the Butterworth and symmetric elliptic responses. The overall phase response is shown to be independent of the type of frequency response implemented. The second network provides easy two-parameter tuning of the crossover frequency for various types of asymmetric Chebyshev magnitude characteristics. Illustrative design examples are included along with measured frequency responses verifying the design objectives.: :
