Reducing Off-Axis Comb-Filter Effects in Highly Directional Microphones

Document Thumbnail

Research into the acoustical properties of highly directional (shotgun) microphones used in motion picture, theater, and television studio applications is described. Particular attention is given to the off-axis frequency response performance. This research has resulted in the design of a new high-quality shotgun microphone with significantly reduced off-axis comb-filter effects.
