Complex Simulation of Acoustical Sound Fields by the Delta Stereophony System (DSS)

Document Thumbnail

The acoustic factors that influence an adapted acoustic layout are enumerated based on the acoustic requirements of concert halls, theaters, multipurpose halls, and so on. Therefrom the corresponding acoustic sound field structures at the listener's position are derived. Using computer simulation, the parameters of the sound reinforcement systems are arranged in such a way as to produce area-covering sound irradiation by means of the delta stereophony system (DSS), maintaining the correct location of the sound event and observing the chosen parameters. The calculation of the quality and system parameters of the DSS method is described in detail.
