Loudspeaker Power Amplifiers with Load-Adaptive Source Impedance

Document Thumbnail

A feedback topology for power amplifiers is proposed, which provides a load-adaptive source impedance. When the amplifier drives a loudspeaker, the voice-coil resistance continually changes because of temperature variations associated with the changing mean power of the program. To negate this problem, the amplifier source resistance is made dynamic so as to maintain a constant total resistance.
