Description of a New Format for Digital Audio-Tape Recording with Stationary Heads

A new format for digital audio recording on tape is presented, taking into account the current evolution in digital audio standards and production methods. The main features include the full correction of a track loss an the compatibility with the important AES/EBU interface features such as extended dynamic range, sample validity information, channel status and user data.
